A case of rape has been lodged against a person who allegedly denied to marry a 16-year-old girl after being in a relationship for the last eight months, in Bazar Shukul area of the district, police said today.
SHO, Bazar Shukul police station, said that a named FIR on the complaint of Mohammad Kash, the brother of the minor victim, has been registered against Nurul, hailing from same village Nandi Gaon in the district.
He said the case came to the light only when the accused allegedly denied to marry the girl with whom he was in relationship for last eight months.
Nurul is still absconding and will soon be arrested, the SHO added.
