The victim, a resident of Basera village of the district, had alleged in 2003 that she was gangraped but refuted from her primary version during the course of the trial in 2005, claiming that she was not raped.

However, when called up again on the request of the prosecution in 2009, the girl again took a U-turn, claiming that she was a victim of gangrape and that as many as 16 people were involved and police excluded names of five persons while filing cases of rape and abduction.

She further claimed her 2005 version was out of repeated pressure from the community panchayat to take back the case.

Taking cognizance of her 2009 statement, the court issued summons to the remaining five accused under the provisions of Section 319 of CRPC and the case was re-examined.

The girl, however, again changed her stand on May 10 by claiming that no rape was committed and she sustained injuries in her private parts as she fell down.

The court has fixed the next hearing of the case on May 16.
