A teenage girl suffered serious eye injuries after she was attacked by some persons in Salempur area today.
The incident took place when the girl was in a field, they said, adding she was attacked with sharp weapons.
The 19-year-old girl was raped two years ago and the accused are in jail, police said.
Police suspect the attack was an attempt to weaken the case against the accused.
Additional Superintendent of Police RS Gautam said probe is on in the matter.
The girl has been admitted to hospital, where her condition was stated to be stable.
