One more accused was arrested today, taking the total arrests to five in the August 22 twin incidents of loot and alleged rape of a woman police constable in Latehar district, the police said today.

"Two among the five dacoits had 'raped' the woman constable, and they are identified as Kutua Oraon, who was arrested today, and Pratik Oraon," Superintendent of Police Michael S Raj told reporters here.

"The woman identified the two rapists while stating that the other three were present there," the SP said and identified the other three accused as Mukesh Oraon, Amrit Oraon and Hiralal Oraon, who were arrested yesterday.

The police corrected names of two of the accused---Pratik, whom they had yesterday identified as Martik, and Mukesh, who was identified as Nagendra.

Rs 11,790, 11 mobiles, a gold chain and the handbag of the woman were recovered allegedly from their possession, the police officer said.

The SP said Mukesh Oraon was a first year B Tech student in an engineering institute at Sonepet in Haryana, and was allegedly among the accused who had indulged in looting of passengers of different vehicles in the wee hours of August 22 on National Highway 75 near Jagaldaga in Latehar district.

The following day, the police woman lodged an FIR alleging gang-rape when she was going to Garhwa from Ranchi by a car, taking the body of her brother-in-law for cremation.
