A number of religious paintings, rare books, prints, photographs including an original poster of Satyajit Ray's iconic film 'Pather Panchali' will go under the hammer in a two-day online auction beginning tomorrow.

"The 55 lots on auction range from books, prints, award winning and acclaimed movie memorabilia, to traditional Bengal 'phad' (scroll painting) art which caters to a wide audience," Amit Kapoor of StoryLTD.Com said.

He said the works, sourced by them from various collectors, are from the early 19th century to the late 20th century.

Movie memorabilia include several rare film posters, lobby cards and photographs from films by Satyajit Ray, Tapan Sinha, Purnendu Patri and Bimal Roy.

Other highlights in the 'Arts of Bengal' auction include a painting of 'Mahisasura Mardini', a mid 20th century work by a Bengal School artist, a centenary volume of Rabindranath Tagore's works published in 1961 and a painting of Subhash Chandra Bose.
