State Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir, a fierce opponent of separatist politics, was present at the inauguration of a shopping mall owned by Hassan at Budgam town in Central Kashmir yesterday.
Both Mir and Hassan defended this rare coming together of the mainstream and separatist politicians.
"What's wrong with separatists taking part in economic activities? And what is wrong in my presence there? It was the separatists who considered us (mainstream politicians) as untouchables and not the other way round," Mir told PTI.
