"We have launched a four-day mega philately exhibition 'My Life is My Message' on the life of father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi in Kala Kendra here from today", Chief Postmaster General, John Samuel told reporters here today.
The exhibition is open for school children, college students and the general public. Over 200 students of various schools visited the exhibition on the inaugural day.
"We want everybody to come and see the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi", he said.
It is for the first time that a stamp exhibition on Gandhi has been organised in Jammu and Kashmir, he said, adding, all stamps on Gandhi issued across the world have been put on display.
Flanked by Jammu University Vice Chancellor Prof M P S Isher and Deputy Inspector General (DIG), J P Singh, Samuel said the exhibition will be open to people and students from 10 AM and 6 PM.
The DoP will also release the special covers of Gandhi during the function, he said.
