Indian golfer Rashid Khan is happy to find his touch again after firing a four-under 68 in the second round to stay six shots away from the leader at the halfway stage of the Hero Indian Open here today.

It was here at the Delhi Golf Course that the 25-year-old had clinched the SAIL-SBI Open after beating Bangladesh's Siddikur Rahman in the play-off in his rookie year in 2014. He then edged out Thailand's Thanyakon Khrongpha in Chiangmai Classic and finished 10th on the Order of Merit.

"I'm putting really good but if I can find more greens then I think I can do well. Normally people struggle with the tee shots but I'm hitting my driver long and straight," said Rashid, who carded three-under in the opening round.

"I'm just a little confused with my irons. That's my problem right now. I need some practice to control my distance. I hit some drivers here. I'm hitting the tee shots good but I need to find the greens. I've been playing okay lately. My game is getting better and better," said Rashid, who had finished fourth at the Hero Indian Open in 2014.

Back on the home course after finishing 25th at the True Thailand Classic, Rashid said: "It means a lot to play at the Hero Indian Open. It is like a fifth Major for us and it is more special because we play on our home ground. I have a chance now, so let's see."

Rashid had claimed the fourth place in the PGTI's 2014 Rolex Rankings. He won the PGTI Eagleburg Masters, had two runner-up finishes and six other top-10s during the season. He also topped the 2013 Rolex Rankings to win the PGTI's Rolex Player of the Year. He had a fantastic season with wins at the PGTI Players Championship at Classic Golf Resort and the BILT Open, a runner-up finish and seven other top-10s.

Rashid was a member of the Indian team that won the silver medal at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou. He won the Faldo Series Asia in 2007 and 2009 as a junior.
