As many as 29 eminent Indologists from across the world will be guests at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, which plays host to the first World Indology Conference from November 21.
Rashtrapati Bhawan spokesperson Venu Rajamony said this is a first-of-its-kind event where around 21 eminent Indologists from across the world will live in Rashtrapati Bhavan which includes the prestigious Guest Wing that normally hosts visiting leaders from foreign countries.
Along with them, eight senior scholars from India will deliberate on various topics related to Indian culture and philosophy will participate in the three-day conference, held in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

Indology is the academic study of the history and cultures, languages, and literature of the Indian subcontinent and includes study of Sanskrit literature and Hinduism along with the other Indian religions, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism.
Dravidology is the separate branch dedicated to the Dravidian languages of South India.
President Mukherjee, besides inaugurating the conference, will also present an award of 'Distinguished Indologist' to 82-year-old Heinrich Freiherr Von Stietencron from Germany for his contribution.
