Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore, a former Army officer and an ace shooter, today paid rich tributes to Fateh Singh, a Commonwealth gold medalist, who died yesterday while fighting terrorists in Pathankot.

"Deepest regards for ace shooter Fateh Singh--glory for India during his lifetime and pride in death," the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting said in a tweet.

"Salute our brave soldiers for foiling Pathankot attack. India has always been and will always stand united against terrorism," Rathore, an Olympic silver medalist in shooting, said.

Former international rifle shooter Subehdar Major (Retd) Fateh Singh had won a gold and silver for India at first Commonwealth Shooting Championship in the capital back in 1995.

Singh, 51, was a member of the Defence Security Core (DSC) and was posted with the Dogra regiment.
