Leading cueists from across the country, including India Number 2 Lakshman Rawat of Uttar Pradesh and No.
8 Yogesh Kumar will battle for honours in the Q-Lounge All India Open 15 Red Snooker Championship, beginning here Monday.
The tournament, with a prize money of over Rs 1.25 lakh, is being conducted by leading snooker academy Q-Lounge under the auspices of the Tamil Nadu Billiards and Snooker Association.
The final will be held on August 3.
Talking to reporters here, Q-Lounge owners Firoze and Abdul Rahman said the tournament has attracted more than 128 players from across the country, including leading plaers like Rawat, Yogesh Kumar, Anuj Uppal, Rafath Habib of Railways, Girish, Arvind Kumar, Faisal Khan, among others.
The tournament would see several youngsters, including Sparsh Pherwani and Kreish Gurbuxani and three women cueists, Neena Praveen, Anupama R and S Manasvini taking part.

The event offers a cash prize of Rs 70,000 for the winner, 35,000 for the runner-up, Rs 15,000 each for the losing semifinalists.
The tournament, to be held on a knock-out basis, would be played over the best of five frames till the Round of 64.
It would be best of seven frames till the pre-quarters, best of nine frames in the quarterfinals and semifinals and the final would be best of 11 frames.
R B Ganesh, who is Gold Class in ACBs and Class-1 IBSF Referee, is the Chief Referee of the tournament.
