A bus driver, who had saved the life of 42 tourists from Maharashtra during last year's devastating floods in the state, was today honoured by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat.
Sodan Kudiyal was felicitated by Rawat for saving the lives of 42 tourists on June 15 last year, who were travelling to Rishikesh in his bus.
The passengers witnessed heavy rainfall and landslide on their way to Rishikesh but Kudiyal managed to take them to their destination safely.

The tourists had written a letter to the state authorities describing Kudiyal's efforts, following which Chief Minister Rawat honoured him today.
"Besides being the land of Gods, Uttarakhand is also the land of brave people. The people of the state came forward to help the national and international tourists during the tragedy," Rawat said on the occasion.
