Stressing on the need to focus on training and efficiency, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat said police should utilise available resources to the optimum to make the state crime-free.
Launching the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) at the police headquarters here, Rawat said the focus of the police should be on modernisation and technical efficiency to control crime in the state.
"Whatever resources are available with the police, it should utilise them to the optimum to make the state crime-free," he said.

"Crime cannot be bound within a frame. Its nature is not just national, but can be international too. Focus should be on modernisation and technical efficiency to counter problems like organised-crime," he said.
Rawat directed the police to establish a system such that there is fear of the police among criminals. The CCTNS would not only help curb crime but also give information about any case lodged in any police station, he said.
The Chief Minister also announced the approval of funds for officers who sacrificed their lives and directed Principal Secretary (Home) to prepare a proposal regarding the same.
