Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today said that the state government was 'not taken into confidence' by the Centre over the proposed construction of a war memorial in the city.
Rawat wrote a letter to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar expressing his objection of being 'left out' of the process.
"We have come to know about a proposal sent by the Cantonment Board to the Centre for construction of a war memorial near Cheedbagh in Dehradun through some newspapers as nothing about it has been conveyed to the state or district administration," he said.

"Still, if the Centre deems it fit to erect the war memorial at the same place, the state government is ready to offer all its cooperation," he said.
