What would have happened if we all had crossed paths, somewhere at some time, during our journey along life's Highway and confabulate with each other?
Casting veterans Dipankar Dey and Sabitri Chatterjee as one of the on-screen couples who bump into the unhappy, ever disagreeing Parambrata Chatterjee-Koel Mallick on celluloid, director Sudipto Chatterjee says the film is more about the the highway of urban life and of relationships.
"If you put it metaphorically what would have happened if all the characters in our life's journey met and exchanged at some point and phase of life, if all little thoughts and dreams had merged and got a form, what it would look like? A mixture of emotions a concoction!" he told PTI.

"So it is a tale of real and imaginary space. Can we plot our journey and where it ends in this life?" the director, having debuted in Bengali feature after two acclaimed Hindi films earlier, said.
"Sabitri and Dipankar, Ray's Sakha Prasakha actor, are just awesome, Very believable as two contented couples, having share of tiffs and still going strong over decades, so unlike the new age couples Param and Koel who feel the relationship has runned its course. Why is it so, why present day youth have different issues, egos and problem and break-ups unlike our elders?" he wondered.
Terming Hemlock Society, where Parmbrata and Koel had been earlier cast, as the first original individualistic film in terms of acting space, the director said "My Highway has no references to the Hindi Highway which had been released long back."
"And Highway is not a typical road movie," he said about the Surinder Films Production.
