India's top amateur Rayhan Thomas alongwith Yashas Chandra and Yuvraj Sandhu made a modest start in the first round of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) here today.
The Indian trio shot two-over 73 each to be Tied-31st after the first day at the Wellington Golf Club here.
Among other Indians in the field, US-based Priyanshu Singh (74) was T-42nd, while Sunit Chawrasia, nephew of the famous SSP Chawrasia, and Kshitij Naveed Kaul shot 75 each to be Tied-59th.

Rayhan and Chandra had two birdies against four bogeys, while Sandhu had two birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey.
Australia's Shae Wools-Cobb, 21, carded an eight-under- par 63 to claim the first-round lead in the ninth edition of the most famous amateur event in Asia-Pacific.
The AAC debutant finished four shots ahead of his Japanese playing partner Sean Maruyama, son of three-time PGA Tour winner Shigeki Maruyama, Australian teammate Min Woo Lee, New Zealand's Nick Voke and Lloyd Jefferson Go of the Philippines.
China's Andy Zhang and Lin Yuxin each carded 69 to share sixth place with New Zealander Kerry Mountcastle, Chinese Taipei's Wang Wei-hsuan and Indonesia's Almay Rayhan Yagutah.
The championship rewards the winner with spots in the 2018 Masters Tournament and The 147th Open at Carnoustie.
