Rays Power Infra Pvt Ltd, one of the biggest solar EPC companies in India, today announced its foray into wind and transmission business with the commissioning of 160 MW project in Jaisalmer.
It plans to invest Rs 200 crore in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka by 2016.
"The company commissioned a 160 MW wind project, at a single location in Jaisalmer, along with a 220 KV sub-station and transmission line," Rays Power said in a statement.

The project will add to the already existing 3,324.045 MW wind projects in Rajasthan, thereby helping the state government to meet its renewable purchase obligation.
Rays Power Infra has till now completed Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of more than 100 MW in the solar sector.
"With the Rajasthan project successfully in place, the company's power-project-commissioned portfolio has reached 260 MW in the renewable power sector and another 150 MW will be completed by the end of this year," the statement said.
Ketan Mehta, Director, Rays Power Infra said the company plans to undertake more such projects pan-India, particularly in states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telengana with an investment of Rs 200 crore.
"These (projects) we envisage to complete by the year 2016," he added.
