RBI sets rupee reference rate at 68.5990 against US dollar

The Reserve Bank of India today fixed the reference rate of the rupee at 68.5990 against the US dollar and 75.6784 for the euro.

These rates were 68.5650 and 75.4695, respectively, yesterday.

According to an RBI statement, the exchange rates for the pound and yen against the rupee quoted at 95.5721 and 61.01 per 100 yens, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.

The SDR-rupee figure will be based on this rate, the statement added.
