RBI to issue Rs 5 coins on Nehru's 125th birth anniversary

Reserve Bank will issue Rs 5 coins to commemorate 125th birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru.

"The Reserve Bank (RBI) will shortly put into circulation Rs 5 coins minted by the government to commemorate 125th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru," RBI said in a notification today.

It said these coins are legal tender as provided in The Coinage Act 2011.

The existing coins in this denomination shall also continue to be legal tender.

* Gayatri Projects Ltd today said it has won a Rs 137 crore order from Chattisgarh government for augmenting a State Highways stretch.
 

The company has bagged a project for "rehabilitation and upgradation of Sigma Tilda Kharora Arang Road (SH-20)" from Project Director, Chhattisgarh Road Development Project, Public Works Department, Raipur," it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The value of the contract is Rs 137 crore, it said.

The shares of the company were trading at Rs 148.30 apiece, down 3 per cent on the BSE at about 1.15 pm.
