The Gujarat Government today said in the legislative Assembly that narco analysis of Congress leader P Chidambaram's son Karti, who is in CBI custody, could be conducted at the Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL) based here if the Centre wanted so.
Karti Chidambaram is in the custody of the CBI after being arrested in the INX Media case.
The issue cropped in the House during the Question Hour when BJP legislator Dushyant Patel sought to know if Narco test can be conducted on Karti Chidambaram at the Forensic Science Laboratory(FSL) here.

The question to Minister of State for Home of Gujarat Pradeepsinh Jadeja came in the context of the CBI approaching a court in Delhi for conducting narco analysis test on Karti.
In his response, Jadeja said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a tough stand against corruption.
"The state government is ready to conduct Narco Analysis test on that accused (Karti) if the Centre asks us to do so," said Jadeja, who then listed many instances where different state governments, such as Himachal Pradesh and Chhatisgarh, had sought FSL's help in solving crimes.
Irked by Jadeja's reply, Congress MLA Dhavalsinh Zala asked him whether the state government plans to conduct such tests on jailed godman Asaram, former IPL boss Lalit Modi or diamond businessman Nirav Modi.
As Zala, at one point, took name of BJP president Amit Shah, Speaker Rajendra Trivedi stopped him from making any further comments, saying the opposition MLA's "intentions" were not good.
Citing Assembly rules, Trivedi said the House can discuss about Karti as he is an accused but "names of those who are not an accused can not be mentioned in the House".
Taking a strong objection, Leader of Opposition Paresh Dhanani asked the Speaker to stop the treasury benches from making "political observations". He even warned that the BJP will get a fitting answer if "they would try to incite the opposition by such political remarks".
