The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is working with paramilitary forces in the country and can also do so with the Telangana police to develop specific equipment for the force, its Chairman G Satheesh Reddy said Saturday.

"I request police officers in this state to interact with us and we can develop equipment required for your specific applications. We can work together," he said.

Reddy, who is also Secretary, Department of Defence R&D, made a presentation on "Defence Technologies: A critical aid for police modernisation" at the RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy here.

"We have a particular directorate created to work with the paramilitary forces. You have seen some of the technologies. We have the capabilities and we can develop these technologies and give them to the armed forces today," he said.

Cyber security is one of the important areas on which the DRDO is working, Reddy said.
