Accusing the Mamata Banerjee government of trying to shield those involved in the Saradha scam, senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi today said real courage did not mean flaunting simplicity, but in taking action.
"Real courage is not to flaunt simplicity, but to take action and step in when some criminality takes place involving your own," he said in a taunt directed at Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress chief, who is known for her simple lifestyle.
"The chief actors of this scam are those of TMC. MPs of TMC, contesting candidates of TMC are involved in the scam and that is why they are trying to hide it," he said.

"I come from Delhi and I know that biggest opposition to CBI enquiry in the Saradha scam is coming from TMC regime. As this is an age of acronyms, Saradha Chit Fund stands for SCF and TMC for Trinamool Model Chit," Singhvi, who is also a Congress spokesperson said.
"The job of the Trinamool Model Chit is to save those who are involved in the scam," he alleged.
"Why is the state government so keen to hide things? For a scam of such proportion why are they not ready to give it to CBI? Inquiry doesn't means criminality," he said.
Singhvi said the Trinamool was trying to fool the people by saying that such a huge scam took place without its support.
He also alleged that the state government and politicians of the ruling party were involved in a scam in recruitment of primary teachers.
"What is the state government doing? There should be clarity. They love to preach without practising it," he said.
Singhvi also attacked the economic and industrial stagnation in the state.
"The economic and industrial growth of the state have come to a halt. They have surpassed the records of the Left regime, but in negative aspects. They have also crossed records in closing industrial units in the last 2.5 years," he added.
