A real estate agent was allegedly murdered by his wife and son for neglecting his family at the K L Puram area, under One Town police station limits in the district, a police official said here today.

Though the incident took place last night, it came to light only today morning, after locals found his dead body and alerted the police.

The deceased was identified as R Sanyasi Rao (45), One Town police station circle inspector told reporters here.

"Sanyasi Rao was found lifeless, with injuries on his head and we interrogated his wife R Mangamma as well as her minor son," the police circle inspector said.

During interrogation, Mangamma confessed that she and her son killed her husband after a bitter fight with him, since he had been neglecting his family, the police official said.

The police official said that Mangamma hit Rao's head with an iron rod last after which he fled the spot to save himself.

However, Mangamma and her son chased him, beat him to death and threw his body in the nearby bushes, the police official said.

Mangamma and her son have been taken into police custody and an investigation is on, the circle inspector said.
