Real time data important for policy making: Gowda

Real time data are important to formulate proper policies for the growth and development of the nation, Union Minister D V Sadanand Gowda said on Thursday here.

"Real time data will help the government in fruitful planning and implementation of the various government shemes," the Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation said while inaugurating the All India Workshop of Trainers for 77th Round of National Sample Survey (NSS) and Time Use Survey here.

The three-day workshop has been organised in connection with the nation wide Socio-Economic survey which the NSS Office (Field Operations Division) of the Centre will conduct from January one to December 31, 2019.

 

The minister said that in the next phase, the survey of the service sector would be taken up.

The subjects being covered in this survey are 'Land and Livestock Holdings of Households and Situation Assessment of Agricultural Households' and 'Debt and Investment'.

The Time Use Survey will be conducted for the first time during the period of January to December 2019, the minister said.
