Four armed robbers allegedly looted Rs 15 lakh cash and jewellery worth Rs five lakh from the house of a realtor in the posh Basant Avenue Colony here today, police said.

Unidentified robbers entered the house of Gurwinder Singh, police said.

Singh's wife Kamaldeep Kaur and a maid were present in the house when the robbers barged in. They demanded cash and jewellery from them.

But when they failed to find anything, the robbers called a person standing outside to confirm if it was the same house they had planned to loot, they said quoting the victims.

They then took keys of all almirahas and suitcases and found cash and diamond and gold jewelleries.

Before fleeing, the robbers locked the lady and the maid in a room.

DCP Jagdley Nilambri said a case has been registered against the four unidentified robbers.

Footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the colony is being examined, she added.
