A 13-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide in her house in the district, after being scolded by her school teacher over her academic performance, police said today.
The victim had gone into her room in the pretext of doing her home work last night and did not come out for a long time.
When repeated knocks went unanswered, her mother broke open the door and found the girl hanging from the ceiling, police said.
The girl had reportedly told her mother yesterday that the teacher had reprimanded her for not focusing on her studies.
Further investigations are on, they said.
