The student, identified as Aparna Mishra, was rebuked by a teacher Brijbhushan Prasad for some reason during an examination in the private school.
Aparna then went to the roof of the four-storied building and committed suicide by jumping from there on the ground, the sources said.
Prasad and headmaster of the school P Dube were detained for questioning.
