Rural Electrical Corporation (REC) Limited, a Government of India Enterprise, would fund the Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TSGENCO) power projects of 6,280 MW capacity to the tune of Rs 24,000 crore.
These projects are 800 MW at KTPS, 1,080 MW at Bhadradri in Manugur of Khammam District and 4,400 MW at Damaracherla in Nalgonda District, a state government release said tonight.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between REC represented by its Chairman and Managing Director Rajeev Sharma and TSGENCO CMD D Prabhakar Rao in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
REC is a Navaratna Enterprise and provides financial assistance for rural electrification as well as all types of power generation, transmission and distribution projects, it said.
