Amitabh Mattoo, advisor to J-K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, has been awarded the prestigious Capital Foundation National Award for his contribution to education and academic reform.
Currently advisor to the chief minister with the status of a cabinet minister, Mattoo chairs the Knowledge Initiative, with the Education Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
55-year-old Mattoo had earlier served as Chief Executive Officer and inaugural Director of the Australia India Institute and Professor of International Relations at the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Capital Foundation, a non-governmental voluntary organisation, has a distinguished list of members that includes President Ram Nath Kovind, Former president Pranab Mukherjee along with union ministers, senior civil servants and eminent professionals from all walks of life.
