Recruitment of constables from J&K, NE states

Nearly three per cent recruitment from Jammu and Kashmir and 11 per cent from Northeast will be begin from next month to fill 62,390 vacancies of constable and in various Central Armed Police Forces.

According to a release issued by Union Home Ministry, Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be conducted for the candidates, which will be followed by a written test later this year.

The written examination will be conducted in Hindi, English and 15 regional languages including Bengali, Assamese, Manipuri and Mizo languages for NE States and Kashmiri (Urdu script) for Jammu and Kashmir.
 

Out of the total 62,390 vacancies 6,583 vacancies are earmarked for North Eastern states (including Sikkim) and 1,631 for Jammu and Kashmir including 447 vacancies earmarked for 11 border districts of the state.

While the requisite height for PST is 170 cms for male and 157 cms for female, it has been relaxed for candidates from Northeast and Jammu and Kashmir has been relaxed.

There is no fee for women and candidates from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Ex-serviceman candidates for applying for this exam and the last date for receipt of application is March 2, 2015 for the candidates of Northeast and Jammu and Kashmir.
