Red sanders smuggler arrested in Haryana, brought to Kadapa

Mukesh Badani, who was arrested on Saturday from Hissar district in Haryana, by the Andhra Pradesh police's anti-red sanders smuggling team, was brought to Kadapa on Monday evening by the Sampark Kranti Express, a police official said here today.

Kadapa Superintendent of Police P Naveen Gulati said that Badani was brought to Kadapa on a transit warrant obtained from a local court in Hissar and he would be produced before the Additional Junior Civil Judge's court at Badvel tomorrow, where a case is pending against him.

Later, the police will request the court to take Badani into police custody to elicit information about his local connections, he said.
 

Badvel circle inspector who headed the team reached Kadapa at 7.30 pm with Badani, he said.

Soon after producing Badani before the Superintendent of Police, he was shifted to an unidentified place, police sources said.

Badani is likely to be produced before the media tomorrow, police sources said.
