Press Trust of India Hyderabad
YSR Congress party today slammed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's statement that he would champion "the cause of united state".

YSRCP leader Konatala Ramakrishna said that Reddy's remarks would have had some credibility had he and his Cabinet colleagues resigned immediately after the Congress high command announced its decision to divide the state.

"After taking a good long gap of time, as if coming out of hibernation, if Kiran Kumar Reddy starts speaking of a united state, it appears as if he is acting at the behest of the high command," Ramakrishna said in a statement here.

If the Chief Minister was serious about the statements he made at a press conference, he should convene a special session of Andhra Pradesh Assembly and adopt a resolution in favour of the united Andhra Pradesh, Ramakrishna said.
