Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan today called upon the scientific community to redefine strategies and think out of the box.
Interacting with officials of the Assam Science,Technology and Environment Council and Assam Energy Development Agency here, Dr Vardhan said, "We have done a lot, but need to do more. We are in the right direction, but efforts need to be strengthened. We have to redefine our strategies and think out of the box."
The minister underlined the need to promote science and technology in a big way in the entire northeast region to bring the area at par with other developed states of the country.
"Science and Technology is to be utilised for achieving the socio-economic objectives of the state and in particular, the objectives of tackling the problems of unemployment and poverty in rural areas and the underprivileged sections of the society," the Union Minister added.
