Tamil Nadu government has decided to reduce the duration of power cuts in high tension industrial units and commercial establishments other than peak hours from 40 per cent to 20 per cent from tomorrow.
It has decided to allow domestic consumers to use power not more than 10 per cent of their total consumption in the peak hours between 6 PM and 10 PM, a government release said here.
The decision was taken at a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on September 26 taking into consideration the improving power situation, following the recent rainfall and progress in various power projects in the state, it said.
