Groundnut oil held steady in the absence of any major buying support.
In non-edible segment, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial maintained its downtrend due to lack of demand from shippers and soap industries.
Linseeds oil also moved down owing to subdued demand from paints and allied industries.
Castorseeds futures remained bearish on lower speculative demand amidst weak export enquiries.
In the edible section, refined palmolein declined by Rs 4 per 10kg to Rs 489 from Monday's closing level of Rs 485. Groundnut oil closed unchanged at Rs 1,275 per 10kg.
Moving to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold dropped by Rs 100 per 100 kg to Rs 3,600 from Rs 3,700 and castoroil commercial went down by Rs 20 per 10kg to Rs 750 as against Rs 770 previously. Linseed oil eased by Rs 5 per 10kg to Rs 810 from Rs 815.
Turning to futures, castorseed March contract resumed lower at Rs 3,945 and moved down further to finish at Rs 3,888 from Rs 4,000 previously, showing a net loss of Rs 112 per tonne.
