Meanwhile, groundnut oil and linseed oil held steady due to lack of any worthwhile buying.
In non-edible segment, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial moved down further on subdued demand from shippers and soap industries.
Castor seeds futures continued to move higher owing to sustained speculative demand on the back of rising export enquiries.
In the edible section, Refined palmolein inched up by Re 1 per 10 kg to Rs 498 from previous close of Rs 497. Groundnut oil closed unchanged at Rs 1,285 per 10 kg.
Moving to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold went down by Rs 15 per 100 kg to Rs 3,550 from Rs 3,565 and castor oil commercial eased by Rs 3 per 10 kg to Rs 740 as compared to Rs 743 last weekend. Linseed oil ended stable at Rs 810 per 10kg.
Turning to futures, castorseed March contract resumed weak at Rs 3,875, but later firmed up to a high of Rs 3,915 before concluding at Rs 3,905 as compared to Rs 3.879 previously, showing a rise of Rs 26 per tonne.
