Refined palmolein gains on good demand

Meanwhile, groundnut oil and linseed oil maintained a steady trend in the absence of any market moving factors.

Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial declined further owing to subdued demand from shippers and soap industries.

In futures, castorseeds slid on sustained speculative selling following lack of export enquiries.

In the edible segment, Refined palmolein edged up by a rupee per 10 kg to Rs 608. Groundnut oil closed unchanged at Rs 1,220 per 10 kg.

Moving to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold fell by Rs 50 per 100 kg to Rs 3,850 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,900 and castoroil commercial eased by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 800 from Rs 810 previously. Linseed oil were unaltered at Rs 830 per 10 kg.

 

Turning to futures, castorseeds for the September contract opened lower at Rs 4,200, later moved up to Rs 4,220 before dropping to end at Rs 4,170 as against Rs 4,280 last weekend, showing a net fall of Rs 110 per tonne.
