Refined palmolein prices edged down further in an otherwise lacklustre oils and oilseeds market here today due to lack of retail buying support.

Groundnut oil and linseed oil maintained a stable trend in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

In the non-edible segment, castorseed bold and castor oil commercial declined owing to subdued demand from shippers and soap manufacturers.

In futures, castorseeds for September contract fell further on sustained speculative selling in the absence of export orders.

In the edible segment, Refined palmolein softened by a rupee per 10 kg to Rs 527 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 528. Groundnutoil closed unchanged at Rs 1,000 per 10 kg.

Turning to non-edible section, castorseeds bold fell by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 3,500 from Rs 3,525 and castor oil commercial moved down by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 730 as against Rs 735 previously. Linseed oil closed unaltered at Rs 730 per 10 kg.

Moving to futures, Castorseeds September contract resumed higher at Rs 3,724 and rose further to Rs 3,735 before drifting to close at Rs 3,680 from Rs 3,715 previously, showing a loss of Rs 35 per tonne.
