Meanwhile, groundnut oil and linseed oil maintained a steady trend in the absence of any market moving factors.

Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial slumped due to lack of demand from shippers and soap industries.

In futures, castorseeds also dipped further on continued speculative selling amid lower export enquiries.

In the edible segment, Refined palmolein rose by Rs 4 per 10 kg to Rs 625 from Saturday's closing level of Rs 621. Groundnut oil closed unchanged at Rs 1,260 per 10 kg.

Moving to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold fell by Rs 115 per 100 kg to Rs 4,000 from last weekend's closing level of Rs 4,115 and castoroil commercial dropped by Rs 23 per 10 kg to Rs 830 from Rs 853 previously. Linseed oil closed unaltered at Rs 835 per 10 kg.

Turning to futures, castorseeds for the September contract opened lower at Rs 4,380 and declined further to close at Rs 4,300 as against Rs 4,410 last weekend, showing a fall of Rs 110 per tonne.
