Groundnut oil prices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying.
In the non-edible segement, castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial shot up renewed demand from shippers and soap industries.
Linseed oil continued to harden on increased demand from paint and allied industries amidst restricted supply position.
In futures, castorseeds prices rallied further on hectic speculative demand on the back of persistant export enquiries.
In the edible segment, refined palmolein climbed by Rs 9 per 10 kg to Rs 624 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 615. Groundnut oil remained unchanged at Rs 1,185 per 10 kg.
Turning to non-edible segment, Linseedoil gained by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 830 as against Rs 820 previously. Castorseeds bold jumped by Rs 150 per 100 kg to Rs 3,775 from Rs 3,625 and castoroil commercial firmed up by Rs 30 to Rs 785 per 10 kg from Rs 755.
In futures, castorseeds for the September contract opened higher at Rs 3,940 and strengthened to close at Rs 4016 as against to Rs 3,904 previously, showing a net gain of Rs 112 per tonne.
