Refined soya oil down 0.2% on subdued demand

Oil for delivery in May shed 0.17%

Refined soya oil prices fell 0.20% to Rs 710 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced holdings triggered by subdued demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in April traded lower by Rs 1.45, or 0.20% to Rs 710 per 10 kg with an open interest of 40,260 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in May shed Rs 1.20, or 0.17% to Rs 696.90 per 10 kg in 1,09,050 lots.

Analysts said reducing of positions by speculators due to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly led to decline in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
