Speculators pare holdings as stocks pile up

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Refined soya oil prices shed 0.51 per cent to Rs 628.95 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced holdings amid sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in February declined by Rs 3.20, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 628.95 per 10 kg with an open interest of 35,070 lots.

The April contract traded lower by Rs 3.15, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 593.70 per 10 kg in 97,385 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators, driven by sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position, weighed on refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
