Refined soya oil down 0.3% on profit booking

Oil for delivery in February contracts shed 0.24%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Refined soya oil prices drifted by 0.34% to Rs 598 per 10 kg in futures trade today after speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels coupled with sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month April eased by Rs 2.05, or 0.34% to Rs 598 per 10 kg with an open interest of 59,700 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in February contracts shed Rs 1.50, or 0.24% to Rs 623.50 per 10 kg in 70,695 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing levels, subdued demand in the spot market mainly led to the decline in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
