Refined soya oil prices softened by 0.48 per cent to Rs 666.50 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced their exposure amid easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in October fell by Rs 3.20, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 666.50 per 10 kg with an open interest of 49,580 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in September contracts shed Rs 1.20, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 660.15 per 10 kg in 13,170 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants following sluggish demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts mainly led to decline in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
