Refined soya oil prices fell 0.71 per cent to Rs 643.20 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced holdings, triggered by sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 4.60, or 0.71 per cent to Rs 643.20 per 10 kg with an open interest of 15,435 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in Augst contract traded lower by Rs 4.20, or 0.64 per cent to Rs 654.80 per 10 kg in 1,12,715 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to slackened demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
