Refined soya oil prices moved down by 0.97 per cent to Rs 686.25 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their exposure, triggered by a fall in demand in the spot market against ample stocks position.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in March drifted lower by Rs 6.70, or 0.97 per cent to Rs 686.25 per 10 kg with an open interest of 48,390 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February contracts gained Rs 4.45, or 0.63 per cent to Rs 699 per 10 kg in 14,410 lots.

Analysts said besides easing demand in the spot market, fall in demand in spot market against sufficient stocks position on increased supplies from growing regions mainly pulled down refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
