Refined soya oil drops 0.23% on subdued demand

Higher supplies from producing belts adds to pressure on prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Refined soya oil prices fell by 0.23 per cent to Rs 581.25 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amid weak cues from spot market on sluggish demand.

Adequate stock position in the physical market on higher supplies from producing belts also put pressure on prices.

At National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), refined soya oil for delivery in June fell by Rs 1.35 or 0.23 per cent to Rs 581.25 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 1,16,380 lots.

The April contract shed 70 paise or 0.12 per cent to Rs 604 per 10 kg, in 8,555 lots.

Market analysts attributed the weakness in refined soya oil futures to sluggish demand in the spot market as against adequate stocks position.
