Refined soya oil prices edged higher by 0.13 per cent to Rs 619 per 10 kg in futures market today as traders created fresh positions amid firm trend at spot market on pick up in demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in June edged up by 80 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 619 per 10 kg with an open interest of 43,690 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in May contracts was trading higher by 70 paise, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 622.75 per 10 kg in 49,490 lots.

Analysts said, fresh positions built up by traders, driven by uptick in demand at the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly influenced refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
