Extending gains for the second straight day, refined soya oil prices rose by another 1.17 per cent to Rs 615.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.
Besides, tight stocks position in the physical market on restricted supplies from producing regions fuelled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month January 2016 advanced by Rs 7.15, or 1.17 per cent, to Rs 615.90 per 10 kg in an open interest of 86,250 lots.
On the similar lines, the oil for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 5.70, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 615.45 per 10 kg in 78,155 lots.
Market analysts said besides rising demand in the spot market, restricted supplies from producing regions mainly kept refined soya oil prices higher.
