Refined soya oil futures extend gain on spot cues

Refined soya oil prices advanced by 0.05 per cent to Rs 730 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators engaged in enlarging positions, tracking a firm trend at the spot market on surging demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January was trading higher by 35 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 730 per 10 kg with an open interest of 46,350 lots.

However, the oil for delivery in December held steady at Rs 717.50 per 10 kg in 6,420 lots.

Analysts said expanding of positions participants on the back of rising demand in the physical market against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly kept refined oil prices higher at futures trade.
